Ernest Joseph emigrated to South Africa from Germany in 1933 and established his business selling scarves, and silk and plastic flowers imported first from Germany and later on from China. He was joined by his son, Peter, in 1969, who runs the company today. The business grew until it was time to move to its own home. In 1985, Ernest Joseph House was established in central Johannesburg and this is where the wholesale business continues to operate to this day. We are well known in South Africa and Namibia and we have customers in most Southern African states..
Our handpicked wares include an extensive range of artificial flowers, plants and trees, as well as patio furniture, pots, ceramic vases, glassware and Christmas decorations. These are sourced according to the prevailing fashions, and according to the preferences of our customers. In addition, we supply parsley garnishing for use in deli and supermarket fridges, and a large range of grasses for the taxidermy industry.
Ernest Joseph & Company has always been known for its scarf ranges – also handpicked according to the fashion of the day. Our commitment is to fulfil the needs of our many loyal customers with whom we have been doing business for many years, as well as our new and valued supporters.
